The Beginning of Our Family

My name is Mary, and I am married to a wonderful man named Nick.  Nick and I got married on June 3, 2010 in Lucea, Jamaica.  It was one of the greatest days of my life.  Nick and I came back from Jamaica and settled into our new life as a married couple with our 2 year old dachshund Oscar Mayer.
In early March of 2011, Nick and I found out we were going to be adding another member to our family.  We were ecstatic!  My due date was November 20, 2011.
I had an awesome pregnancy!  The Cardinals won the World Series right before baby Voss was born.  Nick and I went downtown with my parents to experience the craziness of a World Series win.  We had so much fun, and now our little boy can say he was there to celebrate a World Series win before he was even born.  Baseball is in his blood :)

On Monday, November 7, 2011 at 6:43 P.M., Henry Patrick Voss was born.  He weighed 9 pounds 4 ounces and was 21 inches long.  Nick and I were overjoyed.  Henry was absolutely perfect!

Here is one of Henry's newborn photos.  These were taken when he was 1 week old.
Our first family photo.  Oscar Mayer has been amazing with Henry.  He is such a protective big brother :)  He loves to nap in his doggie bed in the nursery and rarely wants to leave Henry's side.  They are going to be best buddies :)
Henry is 10 weeks old now.  At his 2 month doctor visit, he weighed 15 pounds 9 ounces and was 23 inches long.  Our little boy is growing so fast!  I have never felt so blessed in my whole life!  Being a mommy is the best!  I love my little boy to pieces!

Henry is smiling a lot, and I think he is going to starting laughing out loud any day now.  He loves to lay on his back, kick his legs, and look up at ceiling fans or any bright lights.  Ha!  He is pretty easy to please :)  He also really enjoys taking baths and laying around in just his diaper.  He is sleeping in his crib and sticks to a pretty consistent sleep schedule (10-3 and then 3:30-7).  Everyone says he looks like a mini Nick, and I agree.  His facial expressions look just like his daddy's.  I still have 3 weeks of maternity leave with my little man, and I am enjoying every minute of my time at home with him.  He is so much fun!
