How is it possible that my little boy is 1 already?!?

Nick and I officially have a 1 year old!  I cannot believe how big my little boy is getting.  He went to the doctor today for his 1 year appointment and he weighed 26 lbs. 15 oz. and was 31 inches long.  The doctor said that it is time for Henry to give up the bottle and formula.  I am not gonna lie....I'm a little nervous about this!  Keeping my fingers crossed that we have a smooth transition!

Henry had his birthday party on Saturday, and we had so much fun!  Our little boy was showered with presents!  He has more toys than he could ever play with and tons of new books (this makes the teacher in me very happy!)  We had a football/Huskers theme for the party and everything turned out great!  The weather was beautiful, and most importantly, Henry had a blast!

Henry's actual birthday (November 7) was last Wednesday.  When Henry woke up, he opened one present before he went to maw maw's house.  He opened his broom set and absolutely love it!  He insisted on taking it to grandma's with him ;)  I had to work, but mom made sure that my little boy had a special day.  She took Henry out to lunch at McDonald's and then let him pick out a present at Toys'R'Us.  That night, Katie, mom, and dad came over for dinner and watched Henry open presents and eat cake.

Last Sunday, Henry had his 1 year smash cake photo shoot.  He had so much fun, and Nick and I laughed so hard watching our little boy eat his cake!  I am really going to miss these photo shoots with Tracey every 3 months :(

For Halloween, Henry dressed up as the cowardly lion, and I was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.  We dressed up over at mom and dad's house and handed out candy.  Henry looked so cute as a little lion.  I just kept staring at him all night because I never want to forget how adorable my little boy looked on his first Halloween.

Henry started kicking a ball on October 31.  Mom and dad both say that is really advanced for his age.  I think our little boy is a future soccer star!  Henry is now waving good-bye, growls when we tell him to be a monster baby. sticks his finger up his nose when we ask him where his nose is, has 13-14 teeth, and still loves playing with my hair.  He is running around the house, squeals when he plays with Oscar Mayer, and loves his broom and his Jake and the Neverland Pirates sword.  It is so much fun watching our little boy grow up!

First Steps!!!!

Our little boy is officially a walker...in progress :)  He took his first steps last Wednesday, October 10.  He started off by taking about 4 steps, and he is now up to about 8 wobbly steps.  It is so much fun watching him walk!  I can't believe how big my little boy is getting!  He is now 11 months old and just getting funnier every day.  He loves goofing around with his sippy cup, panting like a puppy dog when you ask him what a puppy dog says, being held upside down, and playing with Oscar Mayer.  He is turning into such a little comedian!

Last weekend (October 7), we had Katie's baby shower, and everything turned out great!  Mom and I were so relieved that everything came together just how we had pictured it.  Mom made Katie the cutest diaper wreath and yarn wrapped letters that spelled "Elle."  Katie and I both told her that she needed to open her own etsy shop :)  Aunt Colleen drove down from North Platte for the weekend.  We had so much fun with her, and she was such a big help with getting everything ready for the shower.

Henry has now transitioned to the big tub.  He loves splashing and standing up (even though we are constantly telling him to sit down.)  He is loving eating his table food.  He has recently tried pancakes, waffles, cinnamon rolls, spaghetti, and grilled cheese.  His favorite food right now is pickles!

We are having so much fun watching this little boy grow up and accomplish new things every day.  We can't forget our Oscar Mayer though....our little weinie beans turned 4 on October 8.  He is such a good big brother!

A Fun-Filled Family Weekend

Nick, Henry, and I just got back from an awesome weekend in Branson.  We had so much fun just relaxing and spending time together.  We left Friday afternoon and came back today and stayed at the Big Cedar Lodge.  It was a really nice place!  Henry was pretty good in the car.  I sat in the back with him on the way down to keep him entertained :)  He loved playing with daddy's ipad and trying on mommy's sunglasses.

On our way down to Branson on Friday, we stopped at Bass Pro Shop in Springfield.  Henry loved seeing all of the animals and found a little lawn chair that was just his size.  :)

After Bass Pro, we stopped to have dinner at Lamberts Cafe.  Henry loved the rolls!

I think Henry's favorite part of the whole trip was jumping around on the king size bed in our room.  He kept Nick and I laughing all weekend long!  We had a blast!

Some of Henry's favorite things right now are: feeding himself, drinking on his own out of his sippy cup (this little boy can chug some water!), pointing, dancing, watching the "I'm Elmo and I Know It" video, swinging, climbing stairs, wrestling with daddy, talking like a monster with daddy (they growl back and forth),  and playing with Big Ted at grandma and grandpa's house.

Last weekend, Tracey took Henry's 9 month pics (a little late because Henry was actually 10 1/2 months) at Tower Grove Park.  They turned out so cute!  I can't wait to see the rest!  His next photo session will be his 1 year.  It will be a fun session because Henry will get a smash cake :)  I can't wait!
