Our Summer is Off to a Great Start with a Visit from Uncle Will

I am really enjoying my time off, and I love to think that I still have over 2 1/2 months before I go back to work.  I could really get used to staying at home with my little boy every day.  Nick might have to drag me back to work kicking and screaming :)  Henry is on the verge of crawling now.  You can tell that he is really wanting to figure it out and get moving.  I tell everyone that Oscar Mayer is in for a rude awakening when Henry starts crawling.  Henry is always looking for Oscar.  Those two are best buddies!
Henry is getting the hang of drinking from his sippy cup.  We fill it with water during his meals.  He looks like such a big boy using it!  He also has a new tooth on the top left side of his mouth.  This makes 3 teeth total now.  He is also starting to chew his food when he eats.  It is so cute watching him eat!  He makes a "mmmmm" sound after every bite :)

Will came home this past week, and Henry loved seeing his Uncle Will.  We spent a lot of time at mom and dad's, and yesterday Henry got in his kiddie pool for the first time.  He loved it!  I knew he would because he loves being in the water when he takes his baths.

My First Mother's Day

I have had an absolutely wonderful Mother's Day weekend!  My boys really do know how to spoil me :)  I was showered with gift cards and a kiddie pool for Henry and I to hang out in this summer.

Nick and I took Henry to the zoo for the first time yesterday.  The zoo is my absolute favorite place to go on a nice day, and I hope that Henry will grow to love it as much as I do.  Henry loved petting the goats at the petting zoo.  He is wanting to touch and feel everything he sees right now.

After the zoo, we went out for dinner, and Henry sat in a highchair at the restaurant for the first time.  He loved sitting at the table with Nick and I and kept reaching for the loaf of bread on the table ;)

Today, we went over to Lexi and Mike's house this afternoon where Henry met his great-grandma Voss for the first time.  This evening we went to mom and dad's house to celebrate mother's day.  Henry was exhausted by the end of the day and fell asleep in the car on the way home.  We had such a fun-filled family weekend.

Earlier this week, Henry celebrated his half-birthday.  He went to the doctor for his 6 month check-up and weighed 22 lbs. 14 oz. He was 27 3/4 inches long.  Our little boy is growing so fast.  He is currently wearing size 18 month clothes.  He has now started consistently rolling over.  He tried eating hamburger this week and did not like it at all so we are going to try chicken this week.  He loves eating frozen bananas out of his mesh feeder and is starting to get the hang of chewing his sweet potato puffs.  I only have two days of work left, and I am so anxious to start my summer break with my little babe.  I cannot wait to spend all day every day with my sweet little boy!

The Summer Countdown Has Begun!!!

I only have 16 more work days until summer break.  I can't wait!!!!!!  I am always excited for summer break, but this year I am absolutely ecstatic.  I can't wait to spend the summer with Henry.  Nick and I were just talking tonight about buying a baby pool.  Henry loves taking baths so I know he is going to love playing in a pool this summer.

Henry came up to visit my students about 2 weeks ago.  He was really good, and the kids loved seeing him.  Everyone commented on how big he was for being only 5 months old.  I love showing off my adorable little boy :)

We had a great Easter!  Henry was a little crabby on Easter Sunday because his teeth were bothering him.  He loved all of his new presents.  My fave was his weiner dog hot dog cutter from Aunt Katie and Uncle Eric.  So cute!

Henry is eating a steady diet of solid foods at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  So far he has tried, peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, squash, bananas, pears, avocados, and apples.  I think the sweet potatoes and avocados are his faves.

Nick went to the Cards vs. Cubs game with Eric last week and brought "Big Ted" (a Cardinals build a bear) home for Henry.  Henry loved it!  We are really trying to make this little boy a Cards fan :)

Happy Easter!

The babe is in a wonderful mood tonight!  He is laughing and playing with Nick.  His new thing is to make a spitting noise with his mouth, kind of like blowing bubbles with his spit :)  He especially likes to do this when we feed him because it makes his food go everywhere.  Sweet potatoes are definitely his fave food.  He loves to play with the wash rag and clean up after he is done eating :) Henry has two bottom teeth now, and he is still drooling everywhere.  We have to change his clothes several times throughout the day because they are wet with drool.  Mom and I took Henry to see the Easter bunny last Sunday, and he was such a good boy.  He sat on his lap and smiled right away for his pictures.  He is starting to roll over from tummy to back more consistently and still loves his bouncy seat.  He gets to spend the day with his Uncle E tomorrow :)

We have teeth!!!

Henry has two teeth coming in on the bottom of his mouth.  He has been a slobbering fool and wanting to put absolutely everything in his mouth.  He has been a tough little boy though and hasn't fussed much at all.  He loves when his Grandpa Mulligan comes to pick him up in the mornings.  He smiles so big every time he sees him.  He is really loving his sweet potatoes and is eating solid foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I am counting down the days until summer break.  I can't wait to spend all day every day with my little boy.  Mom and dad asked me today if I was going to work this summer because they are going to go through Henry withdrawls :)

Today was such a fun day!  Nick, Henry, Katie, Eric, mom, dad, and I went on a tour of Busch stadium.  It was Henry's first time visiting the stadium.  He had his Cardinal hat and made sure to bring Fred (Fredbird) and Ted (his Cardinals teddy bear.)  We took lots of pictures on the field and in the dugout.  Henry was such a good baby on the tour, and the weather was perfect today.  We all hung out at mom and dad's house afterwards, and Aunt Katie helped Henry roll over from his back to his tummy for the first time.

Henry  is loving his solid foods.  So far he has tried green beans and peas.  I made sweet potatoes tonight so he will get to try those tomorrow.  He has been sleeping really well too.  He sleeps about 9 hours straight every night.  He loves to look at the fishies on his music box on his crib.  He has also become very interested in Oscar Mayer.  He loves to watch Oscar run around and is starting to reach out to pet Oscar.  Oscar Mayer better watch out....little does he know that pretty soon Henry will be chasing him all over the place :)

My little boy has now moved on to veggies.  He ate his first batch of peas today.  At first, he wasn't a fan, but after mixing peas with some of his cereal, I think he really liked it.  It is so cute watching him eat with a spoon.  Such a big boy.  Right now he is playing in his jumper.  He loves that thing!  He also is loving the new fredbird stuffed animal that daddy got him yesterday.
Lesson that mommy learned today:  feed Henry before you give him a bath.  He made such a mess eating right after bath time.  The little stinker also looked right at mommy and smiled while he peed in his bathtub tonight.  Our little boy has quite the sense of humor ;)
