A Fun-Filled Family Weekend

Nick, Henry, and I just got back from an awesome weekend in Branson.  We had so much fun just relaxing and spending time together.  We left Friday afternoon and came back today and stayed at the Big Cedar Lodge.  It was a really nice place!  Henry was pretty good in the car.  I sat in the back with him on the way down to keep him entertained :)  He loved playing with daddy's ipad and trying on mommy's sunglasses.

On our way down to Branson on Friday, we stopped at Bass Pro Shop in Springfield.  Henry loved seeing all of the animals and found a little lawn chair that was just his size.  :)

After Bass Pro, we stopped to have dinner at Lamberts Cafe.  Henry loved the rolls!

I think Henry's favorite part of the whole trip was jumping around on the king size bed in our room.  He kept Nick and I laughing all weekend long!  We had a blast!

Some of Henry's favorite things right now are: feeding himself, drinking on his own out of his sippy cup (this little boy can chug some water!), pointing, dancing, watching the "I'm Elmo and I Know It" video, swinging, climbing stairs, wrestling with daddy, talking like a monster with daddy (they growl back and forth),  and playing with Big Ted at grandma and grandpa's house.

Last weekend, Tracey took Henry's 9 month pics (a little late because Henry was actually 10 1/2 months) at Tower Grove Park.  They turned out so cute!  I can't wait to see the rest!  His next photo session will be his 1 year.  It will be a fun session because Henry will get a smash cake :)  I can't wait!

Having a blast with Baby Hen!

It seems like our little Henry is doing something new everyday!  He now pulls himself up every chance he gets.  Every morning, when I walk into his room, he is standing in his crib.  He pulled himself up at his bedroom window and watched daddy mow the lawn this morning.  He would laugh so hard every time Nick looked up and waved at him.  It was so cute!  I bought Henry a new pair of pumas in anticipation of him walking soon :)

We celebrated Nick's 31st birthday last weekend, and Henry had his first piece of cake.  It was so cute watching him eat it!  He was so messy afterwards that we had to give him a bath in mom and dad's kitchen sink.  He LOVED it!

Overall, Nick had a great birthday!

We also got to meet sweet little Vivienne Franzoi last weekend.  She is beautiful, and Andrea and Tony were so happy!  Andrea and I always say that Henry and Vivienne will date someday :)  How cool would that be!  LOL
We always get so excited when Will and Paige visit, and this past weekend was no different.  Everyone met for happy hour on Friday, and we hung out at mom and dad's house all day on Saturday to watch college football.  Of course we were wearing our Husker red!

Henry is crawling around like a mad men and pulling up on anything he can.  He is now saying papa.  It is so cute because he says it so quiet.  He can be yelling one minute and then he will quietly say papa.  He loves to
kiss himself in the mirror and is clapping his hands all the time.  He is just the sweetest little boy, and I thank
God every day that I get to be this little boy's mommy.

Henry is growing up so fast!

Well the past couple of weeks have been crazy!  Henry is doing new things every day!  He pulled himself up in his crib at mom and dad's house for the first time on August 15.  He still hasn't quite figured out how to pull himself up in his crib at home, but he is trying every chance he gets :)
Henry turned 9 months on August 7.  At his 9 month doctor appointment, he weighed 25 pounds 7 ounces (97th percentile) and was 30 inches long (90th percentile.)  His head circumference was 19 1/8 inches (over 97th percentile.)  Of course his head is so big because it has a very big brain :)  Our little boy is a genius!  Henry had to get 3 shots.  He was not very happy about it, but he did so well.  We have such a brave little boy!  He loved playing with and tearing all of the paper on the table while waiting for the doctor :)

Henry is now saying mama, dada, and baba.  He said dada to Nick for the first time on August 19.  We had one proud daddy walking around the house that day :)  Henry just adores playing with his daddy.  Maybe it's because daddy basically lets him do whatever he wants ;)  These are the pictures Nick texted me while I was at the grocery store yesterday.  It seems our little boy loves playing in laundry baskets!  He was having so much fun that he fell asleep right in the laundry basket!

Our little boy is getting over a cold.  He had his first fever last week which, of course, scared his mommy to death.  Thankfully, the doctor said it was just a cold, and he would hopefully get over it in a week or two.  He is feeling much better this week.  Now, Mr. Oscar Mayer is sick with an ear infection.  My poor boys!

Nowadays, Henry loves to give kisses and sometimes slaps ;)  He is talking nonstop and trying to repeat everything we say.  He sometimes just moves his mouth and no sound comes out like he is practicing how to form his mouth to make words.  Henry now has 8 teeth, and he is crawling all over the place and getting into everything he can.  He is constantly trying to pull himself up on everything.  He can get up on his knees pretty easily, but still hasn't quite mastered pulling himself all  the way up on his feet.  He was trying to clap tonight.  It was so cute!  He would clap his hands together once and then couldn't quite figure out how to do it again.  He would open one hand and then brush the fingers of his other hand against it.  Henry has moved on up to size 2T clothing.  I am hoping he will slow down on the ever growing clothing sizes.  I already have a full fall wardrobe for him that is size 2!  He is starting to eat more and more table food.  The doctor told us that he should be fully transitioned to table food by the time he is 1.  Henry is loving this!  He has tried hot dogs, cheese pizza, chocolate pudding, cheerios, and even bites of a McDonald's sausage biscuit thanks to grandpa :)  I know I say this all of the time, but where is the time going?!?!  My little boy is growing up so fast!  I just love him to pieces!

Oh What a Difference a Week Makes!!!

So much has happened in the past week!   My little boy is now an official crawler (started crawling July 31) thanks to lots of help from his Uncle Will and Aunt Paige while they were visiting last weekend.  Henry also said his first word, mama, two days ago (August 2).  He says it all the time now, and I have to admit, it is the best feeling in the world to hear my little boy say mama :)  We also found out on Monday, July 30, that Katie is having a little girl.  Henry can't wait to meet his baby cousin!  It has been such a fun week!  I am so glad that I was able to be home to watch my little boy start crawling and say his first words.  Now I can only hope that he takes his first few steps on a Saturday on Sunday ;)
